A rare and monumental original advertising poster for Pastis Olive, one of the great pastis brands of pre-war France. Signed by the illustrator Marc, the composition is a masterpiece of southern joie de vivre: a jovial, sun-tanned docker pours himself a glass of Pastis Olive against the unmistakable backdrop of Marseille harbour and its iconic transporter bridge.

The bold colours, confident draughtsmanship, and larger-than-life character make this an outstanding example of 1930s French advertising art. At nearly two metres tall, it commands presence.

This piece is sold unframed, carefully rolled and shipped in a rigid tube to ensure it arrives in pristine condition.
