A stylised dog built from bold flat shapes and vivid solid colours, set against a neutral background, while a Barbisio hat in the foreground introduces the product with graphic directness. Clean, minimal, and already pointing toward a near-contemporary aesthetic — a fine example of postwar Italian advertising design at its best.
Barbisio was founded in 1862 in Sagliano Micca (Biella, Piedmont), in a region with a centuries-old hat-making tradition. Within a year, it became royal supplier to the Alpine hunters of the Savoy Army. Today it remains the last surviving Biella hat maker, still producing in fine rabbit felt using century-old methods.
This poster is a 1960s official lithographic reprint of an earlier design by Studio Mingozzi
