A charming original advertising poster for Heudebert's Jardinette soup range, featuring a smiling young peasant woman carrying two overflowing baskets of fresh vegetables against a soft blue background. The tagline speaks to the authenticity of the product: "Préparés à partir de légumes frais des Producteurs d'Herqueville (Normandie)" — a direct appeal to the growing appetite for wholesome, locally sourced food in interwar France.

Heudebert is one of France's great food industry success stories. The brand was born in 1903 when Charles Heudebert, a Nanterre baker, hit upon the idea of twice-baking unsold sliced bread — and the French biscotte was born. By 1919, the company had expanded into a wide range of pantry staples including powdered milks, broths, cereals, and soups. By 1956, Heudebert had become the world's largest producer of biscottes. This poster dates from the height of that expansion, when the brand was establishing itself as a cornerstone of the French household.
