The view is the whole argument. A wooden rail, a path dropping away, and then the Munster valley opening below in bands of green and blue, all of it framed by a cliff face that the artist has turned into a flare of orange, yellow and violet. It is travel advertising that sells the destination by putting you on the ledge, a few steps from the edge, looking out over Alsace and the Vosges.

Issued by the Chemins de fer d'Alsace et de Lorraine, the regional railway network that ran from 1919 to 1938, before its absorption into the SNCF, this is a poster from the years when the railway was actively inviting travellers into the mountains. The deep blue border and the gold lettering give it the unmistakable stamp of the period. It was printed in lithograph in Paris and signed in the plate by Henry de Renaucourt.

At 62 × 100 cm, linen-backed and in excellent condition (grade A), it is a natural fit for a hallway, a study or a dining room, and a fitting piece for anyone with ties to Alsace or a taste for the golden age of rail travel. It comes with a Da Noi A Voi certificate of authenticity.

This piece is sold unframed, carefully rolled and shipped in a rigid tube to ensure it arrives in pristine condition.
